At the Kyiv Smart City Forum 2019 will be discussed the mechanics of large-scale digitalization
Innovations, that changed the city; the global process of digitalization, development of the city space.

Participants of Kyiv Smart City Forum 2019 are expected to have 8 thematic sections, more than 60 Ukrainian and international speakers, more than 1000 m² of innovative space in the demo zone and a test drive of electric transport at the helipad.
The KYIV SMART CITY FORUM 2019 will take place in the PARKOVYI exhibition center on October 1, 2019. Over 3000 participants will gather on one platform to discuss the trends of building a smart urban environment. The event is dedicated to smart technologies and innovative solutions developing cities in Ukraine and in the world.
Kyiv Smart City Forum 2019 is one of the major events in Eastern Europe and a unique meeting place for the smart city ecosystem. Government and public representatives, entrepreneurs, experts and urbanists come together to share experiences, share best practices, and open up new avenues for collaboration. Participants will hear reports from more than 60 Ukrainian and international experts in 8 thematic sections.
Dan Kincaid is the architect and director of the National Urban Design Practice in the United States, which saved Detroit’s infrastructure after the largest municipal bankruptcy in US history. Today, Detroit and other US cities use smart technology to effectively manage buildings and even neighborhoods. The urbanist will tell how the manufacture of architectural components in the age of digitization helps to reduce their cost and create a harmonious urban space.
Peter Bishop, Professor of Urban Design at University College London, will talk about new flexible urban development strategies in the face of an unpredictable future and rapid technological change. For 25 years, Professor Bishop has been the planning director for four central London districts. During the presentation, the expert will share the most interesting case studies on the role of the community in urban initiatives.
Franz-Anton Vermast is a strategic advisor and international ambassador for smart city in Amsterdam Smart City. The speaker will outline a range of new mechanisms and services that make cities and regions more inclusive and more comfortable to live, work and relax.
Adolfo Borrero – president of Smart City AMETIC and CEOE, will tell how Barcelona’s example has accelerated the sprawl of other cities in Spain. In particular, how new technologies and artificial intelligence have changed Malaga, Valencia and the Balearic Islands.
Eduard Dumitrascu – President of the Smart Cities World Organization, Fred Jones – Head of New Mobility at Uber in the UK and Ireland, Dmitry Aranchiy – Chief Architect of Dmytro Aranchii Architects and author of Algorithm Design and other experts.
One of the main topics of the Forum is the digitization of Kyiv and Ukrainian cities as an effective tool for transformation of urban space for the comfort and safety of citizens. In the Smart City section. Country in a Smartphone »will discuss the global trends of urban development, including the unification of payment systems and the active use of Big Data. The city authorities will present the results of the development of smart digital infrastructure in Kyiv and share plans for next year.
Yuriy Nazarov, Director of the KSCA’s Department of Information and Communication Technologies, commented: “At Kyiv Smart City Forum 2019 we collect the latest developments in the field of“ smart ”solutions. The Forum will also focus on Smart Environment, namely, innovative ecosystems and technologies for monitoring energy consumption and assessing the environmental situation. Matthias Fogel – Central and Eastern European Waste Management Executive Director, VEOLIA Ukraine Director, will share his knowledge of environmental approaches in today’s modern city. Section participants will also discuss garbage sorting as a new dimension of conscious citizenship.

Today, 12 CCTV cameras provide a high level of protection, smart lighting with remote power control saves electricity, and ramps and relief cover make it easier for people with disabilities to move around. We have installed the first stationary air quality monitoring system in Ukraine. ”
In the demo area of more than 1000 square meters. m, participants will be able to test smart tools and developments from leading companies in the technology market. A test drive of electric cars and hybrids will take place at the Parkovy helicopter site of more than 6000 m².
Smart City 2019 is an annual award ceremony for urban innovators. Leaders of urban development will be rewarded as part of the Forum. Ukrainian cities will present to participants the achievements in implementing smart solutions in their infrastructure. The expert jury will analyze all the applications and determine the best participants in each area. The purpose of the competition is to draw attention to the use of innovative services for the development of urban infrastructure, as well as to introduce the public to the biggest Ukrainian smart-achievements.
